Well I scored my brother (what I think) is an awesome deal last night on TM. He's moving out on the 20th March. I won him a Queen sz bed, gorgeous head/foot board, and a set of drawers, matching bedside tables and dresser, all for the bargain price of $440.00. Just looking for a free standing mirror now as the dresser doesn't have a mirror.
I'm off to pick up a set of thermal curtains I bought earlier this week, $1!! lol. It's only about 10mins from home, so happy about that. I bought them for the house in Samoa. So am still on the look out for super cheap curtains...
Also scored a lovely bathroom vanity for $5, that's for Samoa, actually mum & dad already have a vanity in the bathroom over there, so this vanity is for the extension that I am will build (hopefully in the nest year :) that my lot can use as a little holiday house :)
On the lookout for a kitchen bench top and sink too and floor tiles for mum's house, gonna tile the whole house.
12:30pm - well I'm back home, picked up the pair of curtains for $1 (score lol) only about 10 mins from home...gawd the lady could talk - I mean it's lovely that's she's friendly, but mate...she went on and on...and on and on....managed to cut loose from her after 30mins I made my way 30 mins over to mangere to pick up the $5 vanity top...another score!! Woo hoo!! Funny thing is...the lady selling it turned out to be the lady who takes the WLS support group...she's a bitter cow - that not many people like, but have become used to. She's one of the first patients to ahve had the surgery under the Counties Manukau program...anywho...she's a failure...I know that sounds really harsh - but it's true and she is!
She's about 3yrs post op. I met her when she would have been 2yrs post op and I couldn't believe she'd actually HAD the op!! I think from memory she was about 130kgs pre-op - and bugger me if she's still the same (if not heavier) now. Seriously...she's is making ALL the wrong choices...now I better stop cos I am describing MYSELF at the moment LMAO. I think though, she only lost 20kgs at first then gained it all back...what makes it worse is that she's in denial!! She reckons that cos she was one of the first patients, that they used a larger instrument to create her 'pouch'...we'll lots of us have complained to the Surgeon and his nurse about her attitude and they have confirmed that if anything he 'pouch' would only be 10mls bigger than ours IF that!!
Anywhoo...the pair of sparkly pink Pulp jandels I bought arrived this morning *yay* they're cute and in new condition, so happy with that :) I've got so many other things that I paid for at the same time, that haven't arrived...maybe they'll arrive tomorrow? I hope so...I REALLY enjoy getting packages in the mail LMAO.
BIL called hubby to confirm if we are still all gonna go out for a family diner tomorrow for SIL's 30th b'day. We're gonna have diner at Fortuna restaurant, Sky City...he even offered to pay for two of our kids (my kids are the only grandkids on hubby's side), which I think was REALLY thoughtful and generous of him, I really appreciate that he even thought to offer...THANKS BIL!! But we'll be ok...I think upto 14yrs they pay $1 for each year of their age, so all good :)
It's the perfect place to take SIL for her b'day though, cos she's a bit of a gambler...so is MIL - thank god hubby and myself are not - we just couldn't afford to!! lol. So they'll have fun after diner, not sure what we'll do though, cos obviously the kids aren't allowed in the gaming area, and I'm not keen to gamble, so I think we'll just call it a night after that...hubby is more than welcome to stay and have drinks with them..but we'll see how the night goes :)
Gift wise, I have bought a top from Wildchild, she's a plus size, she will love this top!! And knowing hubby, it won't quite be enough, so he'll prolly put some money into the card for her...
He's also said he will wash the house tomorrow...yeah right - I'll believe it when I see it mate - oh and btw - I'm on strike...sex strike LMAOooOo...yep - he ain't getting any of this hot mama till he starts doing some work around here LMAO.
6pm - just dropped hubby off at work. I'm NOT in the mood to cook...I'm HUNGRY!! I want something tasty but I don't know what I want to eat - is that dumb or what?? Hubby said he'd cook - well thanks for offering honey but there I don't think there is anything that you know how to cook that can satisfy me right now LMAOoOoo.
He told me to go and get take aways for diner...but I don't know what I want! I just know I crave something super tastey and savoury! So guess what I had...
egg. lol. Well...my own special omelet, egg, spring onion, dash of light soy sauce, garlic, salt and pepper...yep - that was yummy. The kids are happy to have the same or they can have 'whatever' on toast. I'm sure I'm not the only mother in this world that feels like going on strike every now and then!
A mothers work is NEVER DONE!! There is always a load of washing to be done...dishes to be washed, floors to be vacuumed...beds to be made, clothes to pick up off the floor...shit I'm sick of it aye. I'm sick of seeing peoples homes on telly that just look so spotless!! The kids rooms are tidy!! The kitchen and bathroom sparkle!!
I love watching CSI and those kinda programs, how they go into a victims home and find a stray hair...or a single finger print on a table...but I often wonder...if they had to search for clues in my home, they would NEVER solve the bloody case!! There are finger prints everywhere and god knows what else...but you know what - this house is as clean as I'm ever gonna get it...we don't live in a pig sty!! But I feel like we do when I see pictures of perfect homes and kids on telly *sigh*
Anyway...like I said, it never ends. My vacuum is set up in the lounge pretty much 24hrs a day - I vacuum at night when the kids have gone to bed, after they go to school it needs another vacuum...then I turn look at it now (around 6pm) and it needs another vacuum!!! We have black/dark carpet - I wonder if that shows up the mess more? Shit I dunno...all I know is that i can't stand a messy house and I try my best but is NEVER ending and I'm tired of it!
And you can be bloody sure that as soon as I say STUFF IT and let the house go for a day or two...we'll get visitors turn up unexpected...I can't stand that!! So after I enter this blog...I'll be a good wifey and pick up the vacuum again and give it a quick once over...*sigh*
A day in the life...
11pm - well...took all the kids to pick up a couple of bean bags I bought off Trademe...they are 'ok' as is...but should really have a bit more filling added - the outer is AS NEW so a bargain at the price I got them for :)
On the way home we bought some fish'n'chips. I had a whole piece of fish Mmmm.
Am tired...poor hubby though, started work at 6pm, he'll prolly finish at 7-8am in the morning :(
Oh well...I'm tired, so gonna take myself to bed. Didn't do any of the baking that I had planned, but at least Miss 14 got her dates wrong and she doesn't have a sleep over on the other side of Auckland tonight, so that saved me a long drive! I'll do some baking tomorrow...PROMISE!! lol. I need to - start my course on Monday so will have to be super prepared with goodies for the kids lunches otherwise I'll end up super broke buying crap from the shops!!
Nighty night :)
